This 12-week course interlaces recent scientific research on trauma with embodied practices and collective intelligence/wisdom. We won’t be making you a therapist, but will give enough background theory and awareness to recognize trauma responses in others and in oneself; and how to apply it to your work situations.
New organizational models and practices put a strong focus on relationships, and on creating spaces where people can be more authentic, more open, and where they can “bring their whole self to work”. Collaboration in these spaces is asking for different capabilities, for facilitators, coaches, team members or leaders.
We notice more attention for personal, organizational, and intergenerational trauma. Recently, scientific research and theory has emerged explaining trauma and its effects. Deep personal and collective stuff becomes more visible and disciplines, like regenerative practices, include healing as a key aspect of their impact.
Regardless of the role we play in a group, as collaborators, we find ourselves in need of a trauma-informed approach. This course invites a small cohort into a safe learning container to explore how to create connection without pushing too far, how to equip ourselves as we invite others to dive into self-exploration and vulnerability, and how can we make sure that, at least, we are not creating more trauma.

J.D. is a facilitator, coach, consultant, and community builder working at the intersection of somatics, self-management, social justice, and regeneration. He is a Greaterthan Associate, a somatic coach trained at Strozzi Institute, the principal of Open/Up Hospitality, and a founding member of Building Belonging.
Defined by some as an organisational healer, Lucia brings her passion about connection, depth and exploration to the world of self management.
Melinda believes in the power of communities and is passionate about helping them grow to contribute towards a sustainable society. She has co-founded Impact Hub Budapest, a global community based coworking office. She enjoys engaging with people in meaningful conversations about their environment and enabling them to recognize their own true power to make steps towards a more sustainable world.
Over the 12 weeks, the full group will meet 7 times for 1-2 hours.
In the weeks in between, you will meet with a pod (groups of 3-4 students) to share experiences and insights, and deepen the learnings on the course content.
Important note: This program is not designed to qualify you as a practitioner of Somatic Experiencing, nor to give you credentials to call yourself a trauma-informed practitioner. It is designed to educate and create awareness of how trauma responses appear in our day to day interactions, both in ourselves and in others, and give you tools to respond appropriately.
